Hi, I'm Hina.

My career in education began more than two decades ago, but my interest in the relationship between learning and technology goes back just as far. With a background in Computer Science, I have always been curious about how technology can support meaningful learning.

Over the years, my work has taken me from teaching and curriculum leadership to professional learning and instructional design.  As a Head of Department and later Programme Leader for Teaching & Learning with Digital Technologies, I designed learning experiences for both students and educators, supported teachers in integrating technology into their practice, and led curriculum and professional learning initiatives.

Today, I work as a Learning Designer at The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, where I design digital learning resources for healthcare education initiatives. At UBC, I have also designed AI and digital literacy resources for Digital Tattoo and facilitated professional learning for educators through the Edith Lando Virtual Learning Centre.

I completed my MA in Media & Technology Studies Education at UBC and will continue there as a PhD student in Language & Literacy Education beginning September 2026. My research interests include AI in education, immersive learning, critical thinking, and making thinking visible to support deeper engagement with knowledge.

Outside of work and study, I'm a wife and mom of three, an avid reader, and someone who loves being outdoors. Vancouver has given me plenty of beautiful places to explore.
